Home About Us Overview

What makes us different?

We are a nonprofit, Member-led health plan providing comprehensive health insurance benefits to individuals, families, and businesses. Our focus is on the wellbeing of our Members and communities. We believe that meaningful partnerships with Members, providers, and employers are the only way to bring about change. By working together, we will improve quality and reduce costs.

About us

We’re dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality health benefits. As a Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (CO-OP) formed in 2011, we are proud to have been able to offer insurance to previously uninsured Mainers.

We offer plans for on- and off-exchange enrollment, including plans that are eligible for financial assistance. We also offer many plans designed for small and large employer groups.

Our innovative approach is focused on reducing barriers to better health - reducing out of pocket costs for treatments and medications that lead to better health management and outcomes.

We’re governed by a board of directors, a majority of whom are elected by our Members. This ensures that our Members have a strong voice in the management and development of the organization.

We strive for productive partnerships with our Members, employers, and our broad network of providers. We believe in working together with our partners to improve health, enhance the patient experience, and control costs.

We are the community we serve! Our team is based in Maine, we have representatives across the state, and we support local resources whenever we can to promote better quality healthcare.
