Behavioral health when you need it

A personalized treatment plan

By utilizing the comfort of your personal space, telehealth can be a very effective tool in the line of care and your treatment for behavioral health concerns. Behavioral health telehealth is used for a wide range of conditions and diagnoses: Whether you need mental health help for sadness, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, or other life challenges or want to address a substance use disorder (tobacco cessation, alcohol use disorder, or opioid addiction), our telehealth services provide psychologists, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, and professional counselors. Additionally, for all non-HSA plans, your first visit with a behavioral health professional is at no cost to you.

To get started with behavioral health telehealth services, log into the Member portal, and click on the Health & Wellness tab. Once you've registered, your information will be stored for future visits.

Control of your mental health is in your hands

Behavioral health telehealth provides you with greater access to psychiatrists, counseling, and therapy services for a full range of mental health and substance use disorders. Patients can schedule an appointment usually one week ahead of time, and set up ongoing visits with an online healthcare provider you select based on what treatment best fits their needs. Licensed therapists can provide initial evaluations and diagnosis, as well as ongoing therapy for individuals and families. Typical appointments last 45-minutes to address many mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and family therapy. Please note, we reserve the right to charge you a $40 cancellation fee for missing a scheduled psychiatry or therapy appointment or for failing to cancel/reschedule within 24 hours of the appointment time. Behavioral healthcare through Amwell® is not a crisis support service. If you are experiencing an emergency situation, please dial 911.

JUST A CALL AWAY

Living in rural Maine could mean avoiding treatment because it requires extensive time off. David doesn't have time to see his psychiatrist, yet finances, marriage, and the needs of his family make him feel stretched too thin. With behavioral health telehealth, David can schedule an appointment right at home. Plus, with his first visit at a $0 copay, he can make sure he finds a psychiatrist that understands him. Now, David can preschedule appointments for weeks in advance, and not miss a beat.

Discuss prescription options and arrangements

With telehealth, you can get refills of existing medications or arrange to get new medications, including antidepressants, mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, and much more. Note: some prescriptions, including controlled substances, cannot be prescribed online.
