2022 Health Plan Rates Look Favorable

It's the time of year when Community Health Options files proposed 2022 individual health plan rates. Due to recent state legislation, next year's individual health plans will look slightly different than previous years. Maine insurance carriers will offer a handful of consistent Clear Choice plan designs to make it easier for consumers to compare health plans from different insurers. All individual health plans will now have a new name.

Click here to see a sample of our proposed individual health plan rates that are pending regulatory approval.  Please note that these rates do not account for any Advance Premium Tax Credit (APTC) subsidies that Members may receive.

Our 2022 plans also include some valuable new features that we have added based on Member feedback, including expanded telehealth services for all and a national provider network option.  We will continue to include coverage of COVID-19 vaccinations at no cost, access to our Site of Care program, and pharmacy support through our Script Savers program.

The Bureau of Insurance will hold a public forum on 2022 individual health plan rates on July 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Read more and register at the State of Maine website.  For more information about proposed rates, you may also contact Member Services, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., at (855) 624-6463.

As COVID-19 continues to create uncertainty and disrupt many of our regular routines, we want to remind you that good health is more important than ever. Health Options is here to help Members get the most value from their health insurance plans. We have benefits and resources designed to help you and your dependents be your healthiest - at little or no additional cost to you.

  • First, back-to-school time is a great reminder to schedule wellness visits for you and your school-aged children (3-21 years). Wellness visits are a time for you and your primary care provider (PCP) to discuss your personal and family health history, identify necessary preventive tests and screenings, and discuss or provide recommended vaccinations at $0 cost-share to you.
  • Second, if you or a dependent do not have a PCP, we encourage you to log into your Member portal at Then, click on “Doctors & Hospitals” and use the “Find a doctor or hospital” search to locate your desired PCP. Please call Member Services at (855) 624-6463 if you need further assistance.
  • Third, COVID-19 vaccines are widely available for individuals aged 12 and older throughout Maine. In addition, Health Options makes them available at $0 cost-share to Members. As the Delta variant becomes a more prominent strain, vaccination is the safest way to protect against severe illness. If you have not received a COVID-19 vaccine, please call your PCP or your local pharmacy and schedule your shot today. Many pharmacies also offer walk-in COVID-19 vaccine services.

Our Members’ health, well-being, and safety are our priorities. Please call our Member Services at (855) 624-6463 for more information about preventive care benefits.
