2022 Health Plan Rates Look Favorable

Jul 12, 2021

It's the time of year when Community Health Options files proposed 2022 individual health plan rates. Due to recent state legislation, next year's individual health plans will look slightly different than previous years. Maine insurance carriers will offer a handful of consistent Clear Choice plan designs to make it easier for consumers to compare health plans from different insurers. All individual health plans will now have a new name.

Click here to see a sample of our proposed individual health plan rates that are pending regulatory approval.  Please note that these rates do not account for any Advance Premium Tax Credit (APTC) subsidies that Members may receive.

Our 2022 plans also include some valuable new features that we have added based on Member feedback, including expanded telehealth services for all and a national provider network option.  We will continue to include coverage of COVID-19 vaccinations at no cost, access to our Site of Care program, and pharmacy support through our Script Savers program.

The Bureau of Insurance will hold a public forum on 2022 individual health plan rates on July 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Read more and register at the State of Maine website.  For more information about proposed rates, you may also contact Member Services, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., at (855) 624-6463.

All voting should be this easy! If you are a Health Options Member 18 years of age or older you can cast your ballot online for the Board Director candidates of your choice. Voters will elect – or in some cases, re-elect – five of the eight candidates running for open seats. The successful candidates will serve a three-year term beginning January 2021.

Election Services Corporation (“ESC”), an independent third party, is conducting the election and has communicated with all eligible voters. ESC established a website for online voting but will also accept hard copy ballots sent by postal mail. Those ballots must be postmarked by November 5; online votes must be submitted by 5:00 pm ET on that date.

If you need additional information about your voting options, contact ESC at (866) 720-4357 or via email at CHOHelp@electionservicescorp.com.

Election results will be announced at Community Health Options’ Annual Member Meeting that will be held via online Zoom meeting on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Our guest speaker will be Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah, who will discuss Maine’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
